2022 marked the second year of the Chino Y Chicano podcast with Matt Chan and Enrique Cerna. It was year of challenge especially for Matt who left retirement to join Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell’s administration, then learned he had kidney cancer, and despite his illness, led a successful Seattle Chinatown International District community protest against King County’s proposed expansion of a homeless shelter near the C-I D. On this episode, we reflect on those challenges and ahead to a new year with hope for better days.
