According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention: Fentanyl and other synthetic opioids are the most common drugs involved in overdose deaths. Even in small doses, it can be deadly. Over 150 people die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl.
Nicole Rodin says the big concern is illegally produced fentanyl that is cheap and too easily accessible in communities throughout America. Rodin is an assistant professor at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences where her focus is on Pharmacotherapy. She joins the Chino Y Chicano to talk about what the public needs to know about illicit fentanyl, and how addictive and deadly it can be.
