Leesa Manion is the new King County Prosecutor. She was elected to the office in November, becoming the first woman, and person of color to hold the post in King County. She is also the first Korean American woman to be elected prosecuting attorney in the United States. Manion joins the Chino Y Chicano to talk about her to decision to seek elected office for the first time, the challenges of campaigning, and her priorities as she takes over as prosecutor of the state’s most populated county. Manion also talks candidly about growing up in Kentucky, where she was separated from her Korean mother at an early age, and how that experience influenced her life.
